Beards have been one of the biggest fashion trends of recent years and look as though they are here to stay and it’s more common than ever for men to long for a thick, luscious beard. Unfortunately, this just isn’t possible for everyone and a lot of men suffer from beard envy.
For this reason, it’s no surprise beard transplants are continuing to rise in popularity as they allow you to literally ‘fill in the gaps’ to do what mother nature can’t.
The procedure is very simple, hair is removed from another part of your body (usually the scalp) and transplanted to your beard-area. The grafts that are added to your face are permeant which means that if you decided to be cleanly shaven for a change, perhaps for a special occasion or a job interview, the hair would grow back at the thickness of the initial transplant.
If you’re worried that a beard transplant is a long, drawn-out affair then you should not be concerned. Firstly, a consultation with a surgeon can be arranged at your convenience. If you decide to go ahead with the procedure you can be seen fairly quickly. Plus, the recovery time is shorter than a normal (scalp) hair transplant. You will experience some swelling and soreness for a few days, but it should only inconvenience you for around a week.
The great thing about a beard transplant is it can be designed to your taste. Whether it’s designer stubble or the lumberjack hipster look you desire, our surgeon Dr Shahmalak can work to your requirements.
Surveys suggest that bearded men appear more confident and that many people associate a well-groomed facial growth with intelligence. Longer, thicker beards are associated with sensitivity and creativity
