Crown Clinic was back in the news this week with our survey about the world’s most eligible bachelors.

With George Clooney now taken, that accolade has been taken on by our very own Prince Harry.

The survey was picked up by some of the biggest news sites in the world including the Daily Express and Yahoo. You can reveiw some of the coverage here:

Prince Harry takes over from George Clooney as the world’s most eligible bachelor
* The 31-year-old royal beat One Direction’s Zayn Malik into second place;
* Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio was third and singer Ed Sheeran was fourth;
* Charisma and good looks were both valued above wealth when assessing what makes a good catch;

Prince Harry has taken over from George Clooney as the world’s most eligible bachelor.
The 31-year-old royal was voted the most desirable single man ahead of former One Direction star Zayn Malik, 22
Clooney, 54, had held the crown for three years’ running prior to his marriage last year to human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, 37.
In third place was Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio, 41, and fourth place went to the singer Ed Sheeran, 24, one of the best-selling recording artists in the world.
Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, 38, worth an estimated £1.5 billion, was the highest placed businessman on the list in fifth place. He has previously dated the supermodel Lily Cole.
In sixth place was Jake Gyllenhaal, 34, who has dated some of the world’s most beautiful women including Kirsten Dunst, Reese Witherspoon and Taylor Swift.
Seventh place went to Michael Fassbender, 34, tipped for an Oscar nomination for his role in the new bio-pic Steve Jobs.
Superman star Henry Cavill, 32, a well-known animal lover, was in eighth place.
Seven places down from his former One Direction band-mate was singer Harry Styles, 21, in ninth.
Tenth place went to James Franco, 37, nominated for an Oscar for the movie 127 Hours.
The results came from a poll of 1,000 women by Crown Clinic in Manchester, Britain’s leading hair transplant centre.
Those polled were asked to rank the five most important characteristics apart from being single when assessing a bachelor’s eligibility.
Perhaps surprisingly, charisma ranked higher than both good looks and wealth – possibly explaining why fun-loving Prince Harry topped the poll.
The two other factors which made the top ten bachelors a good catch were being a nice guy and having great hair.
Beards may well be factor because all the men in the top five regular have beards or prominent facial hair.
Hair transplant Asim Shahmalak surgeon from Crown Clinic said: “It’s no surprise that Prince Harry is the world’s most eligible bachelor – we all love him because he is a fun guy who doesn’t take life too seriously.
“He is also seriously handsome, particularly since growing his ginger beard.
“It is a great message, too, that we have two redheads in the top five with Ed Sheeran coming in at number 4.
“Almost all the men in the top ten have grown beards or prominent facial hair in the last five years, suggesting women really do prefer the hirsute look.
“The other common factor linking the top ten is that they all have great hair.”
Dr Shahmalak is the hair transplant surgeon to the stars and his celebrity clients include the model Calum Best and the TV doctor Christian Jessen.
Bachelors were defined as men who have never been married and are not in long-term, settled relationships.
