Our surgeon Asim Shahmalak stars on Irish TV

POSTED: 09 December 2013

Regular readers of this blog will know that our surgeon Asim Shahmalak is often in the media.

Asim - one of the world's most renowned experts on hair transplantation - is often in demand by TV stations and newspapers for his expertise on issues concerning hair loss.

Recently he was in Dublin talking about his work on Ireland Am - their equivalent of the TV show This Morning.

You can watch Dr Shahmalak's appearance here:

Dr Shahmalak very much enjoyed explaining his work assisting celebrities such as Calum Best with hair transplants, as well as his ground-breaking work in the fields of eyelash and eyebrow transplants.

He performed the very first eyelash transplant ever performed in the UK.

Our surgeon also has very close connections wtih Ireland.

He began his career as a surgeon working in hospitals in Ireland and both his children were born there. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

He regularly flies over the Irish Channel to see patients. We have consultation rooms at the Slievemore Clinic in Dublin.

Many Irish patients prefer to come over to the UK for treatment because hair transplantation tends to be far cheaper in the UK than Ireland.

Even with the costs of the flight and a hotel it is far cheaper to come to our Crown Clinic in Manchester than it is to have the surgery in Ireland.
