Olympic Hero’s Hair Transplant At Crown Clinic

POSTED: 29 January 2013

We were very proud to work with the Olympic hero Peter Waterfield at the Crown Clinic.

You'll remember him from London 2012 where he was Tom Daley's dive partner.

What is less well known is that Peter is the greatest diver in British Olympic history - having won a silver medal at the games in Athens 2004 and competed in the last four games.

No Briton has ever won a gold at diving. Tom Daley, Peter's close friend, has a bronze.

Peter came to us because he had an image problem. He'd shaved his head since he started losing his hair in his teens.

That skinhead haircut - combined with a broad Cockney accent - meant some people got the wrong impression of Peter - a lovely family man who works tirelessly as a mentor in our schools.

As Peter told us: 'They get the wrong impression and think I'm a bit of a thug.'

Peter wanted to stop shaving his head and grow his hair back. We were only too happy to help.

He had a Follicular Unit Extraction at our Manchester hair transplant clinic - the same procedure as Wayne Rooney.

We shared Peter's story with the media last week.

We were delighted to see it getting picked up by the world's biggest newspaper website, Mail Online. It was also in the Daily Mirror.

Here's the story:

Peter's hair will grow back over the next few months. We look forward to posting new pictures of Peter with his new hair later in the year.
