I was amazed there was no pain and I walked back to the hotel. I arrived home the next day and looked in the mirror I could not stop smiling. I had hair, it’s hard to put into words how I feel, it’s like being reborn again. Afshan rang from the clinic to check on me. I told her there was no pain and no need for the tablets and that I couldn’t stop smiling at the mirror. I would like to thank Dr. Shahmalak and all his staff they have done a wonderful job, thank you. If I had to advise anyone thinking about an hair transplant I would say don’t think about it pick up the phone and put a smile on your face.

This was my second treatment and procedure by Mr Shahmalak and his team. I cannot express my gratitude for their professionalism and attitude during my treatment. Throughout my treatment I was treated with dignity and sensitivity and for what can be uncomfortable procedure you are made as comfortable as humanly possible. From arriving at the clinic Ms Shafi makes you feel completely at ease and seems to fully understand clients (patients) anxiety’s and makes your journey and visit seem very routine and ordinary. Once the procedure had started Mr Shahmalak nurses are very warm and friendly and maintain a lovely upbeat atmosphere in the surgery room which makes the time pass very quickly and as enjoyable as possible.

The Crown Cosma Clinic is within easy access to Manchester Airport, it is well set out, scrupulously clean, tidy and well furnished. It is also good to know that there are resuscitation facilities available if required. During both the initial and pre-consultations I found Mr Shahmalak both professional and informative about the procedure and at all times open to any questions or to allay any concerns I had. When I arrived at the clinic I was quite stressed due to arising at 3am and catching the 07.10 flight from Belfast I was greeted by the Patient Coordinator Ms Afshan Shafi who immediately put me at rest with a cup of tea and friendly chat. Mr Shahmalak then ran over the procedure, emphasized the importance of the after care and we discussed and decided on the areas to transplant. The entire surgical team including Mr Shahmalak himself were all professional and cheerful throughout the meticulous (and what must have been tedious) procedure of preparing the follicles and then inserting them in pockets previously prepared by Mr Shahmalak. I was particularly impressed by the fact that the nurses although working hard from 8.30am to 4pm were just as pleasant and cheerful at 4pm as they had been at 8.30 in the morning, after what must have been quite a long and tiring day for them. In fact from the beginning the team were at pains to put me at ease by talking to me while Mr Shahmalak was operating on the back of my head, so taking my mind of just what he was doing back there! The entire team gave the impression of people who take considerable pride in their work and strive to do as food a job as possible and it is a comfort to know they are always at the end of the telephone line should anything go wrong post operative. All in all I am well pleased with the work unfortunately I will have to wait for the hair now!!

I found the whole experience very efficient and professional. The surgeon, Patient Coordinator and Nurses were always helpful and made me feel at ease.
Ideally I would of liked a courtesy call one day prior to surgery to advise all was till on schedule and to see if I had any last minute concerns.
However, it has been one week since surgery now and I am very happy with the initial results and I would recommend Crown Cosma Clinic to my friends and family.

The initial consultation with Dr Shahmalak went fine with him explaining that he could place hair grafts in the specific areas that I wanted. Pre-surgery we went over what we discussed in the consultation and he cleared up any final questions that I needed clarifying. I then went into the treatment room where I met Dr Shahmalak’s team who were lovely and made me feel comfortable as I was quite nervous pre-surgery as I didn’t really know what to expect entering the treatment room. During the surgery I was continuously asked if I was alright which I appreciated as I was still a bit apprehensive. Post surgery Dr Shahmalak gave me a aftercare pack which he explained thoroughly what to take and use and when.
Fingers crossed the surgery will be a success and in the upcoming months I will develop new hair in the transplanted areas. If so this will improve my confidence greatly and I will owe it all to Dr Shahmalak and his team.
