I was pleasantly surprised to hear from Dr Christian Jessen in April 2009 to discuss his own “embarrassing illness”.
When I first saw him at my Harley Street clinic about a year ago, he felt very self conscious of his high forehead and temples. I felt that he was not very comfortable in himself although a very confident man.
He had already decided in his mind before the consultation had even started that he would have his hair transplant procedure.
Following from a patient who had his hair transplant on Embarrassing Illnesses in 2008, Dr Jessen was so impressed with his results, he decided to make contact with me.

I’m sure you are all aware I successfully completed the first eye lash transplant surgery in the UK – you can read her story in the testimonials.
The condition for this young lady was an obssessive compulsive disorder called Trichotillomania – a condition that made her want to pull out her eye lashes from the age of 6 and stopped at the age of 14. She realised that she had no eye lashes which would give her an obvious feminine look.
She was desperate to have something done for her eye lashes and was even prepared to go across the atlantic for an eye lash transplant.
