What Causes Men To Want A Hair Transplant?

Posted in Hair Loss (General), Head Scratchers: FAQs, on Mon, July 08, 2013

We are often asked at Crown Clinic what prompts men to  seek a hair transplant.

The simple answer is that there are lots of reasons.

Men are much less embarrassed to seek cosmetic procedures such as a hair transplant. It is seen as no more unusual these days than a woman having a boob job.

Another obvious reason why men come to us for help because they have reached a crossroads in their life.

Typically, they are in their mid-40s. They have started losing their hair and they are worried about the effect this will have on their looks and, more importantly, their careers.

We work with a lot of celebrities at Crown Clinic who know that they need to look good - and continue to look good - to prosper in their careers.

We did some polling recently on the whole issue of the the mid-life and the 40 most popular signs to show if you are having one.

You may well have seen the story in the national newspapers including the Daily Telegraph, The Times, Daily Mail, The Sun, Daily Mirror and Daily Record.

Here are a few of the links:

Our surgeon Asim Shahmalak explained to the Daily Telegraph: "As people get older they worry increasingly about their appearance and want to recapture their youth.

"At Crown Clinic, we have found that people are far less shy about making quite radical changes to their appearance as they get older.

"Men are less embarrassed to seek a transplant to combat baldness.

"They worry about losing their jobs and know that a more youthful appearance will make them more attractive not just to the opposite sex but to employers as well."
