Asim Shahmalak Championed by the Trichological Society

POSTED: 04 June 2013

We are very lucky at the Crown Clinic to be able to draw on the talents of one of the most brilliant hair transplant surgeons in the world.

Our surgeon Asim Shahmalak is recognised globally for his talent and pioneering techniques.

He is one of only two British hair transplant surgeons to have been invited to be a member of the International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons.

As a result, he travels around the world to speak at conferences and promote greater learning on the whole subject of hair transplantation.

Dr Shahmalak was recently invited to give a talk to the Trichological Society in London.

Its membership includes many of the world's most respected academics in the field of orthodox hair science.

They wanted to know how he came to perform the UK's first eyelash transplant.

This operation was performed four years ago on a lovely woman from the North West who had permanently damaged her eyelashes by ripping them out due to a psychological illness called trichotillomania.

The Trichological Society has helpfully published a detailed account of the operation on its website.

You can read all about it here:
