Our surgeon Asim Shahmalak travelled to Edinburgh last weekend for the 7th World Congress for Hair Research.
It is the major event in the calendar for those with an interest in hair, including specialist physicians, dermatologists, surgeons and scientists from academia and industry.
The fields of basic and clinical hair research continue to expand both scientifically and geographically and sessions included scientists sharing the latest research in hair transplantation.
It was a great honour for Dr Shahmalak to meet Dr Alan J. Bauman, who had flown over from Florida for the congress.
Dr Bauman is the founder and medical director of Bauman Medical Group in Boca Raton – one of the leading hair transplant clinics in the world.
Dr Bauman assisted Dr Shahmalak with eyelash transplantation. It enabled Dr Shahmalak to perform the first eyelash transplant in the UK four years ago.
