Hair Replacement in Manchester

Patients looking for hair replacement in Manchester can now access the talents of the first British hair transplant surgeon to offer eyebrow transplants. Until now hair replacement in Manchester has been limited to the usual treatments offered to men and women to treat hair loss on the head using medicines, topical creams, hair pieces, cosmetics and transplant surgery.

Other areas that suffer from hair loss have been difficult to treat because of the precision that is needed for natural looking transplants, especially on small areas such as the eyebrow. The technique requires precise techniques to replicate the same direction of hair growth as a natural eyebrow for a natural result. Eyebrow hair replacement uses donor hair from the scalp, therefore the transplants need to be maintained regularly as the hair growth will be the same as it was on the head. Generally this means a trim every 4 to 6 weeks, the same frequency as visiting a beautician for plucking.

6 years ago I I was burnt on my body and scalp, resulting in a scarred bald area on the back of my head. At the time I was told hair transplanting was not an option – is this still the case?

  4. [Blocked by CFC] Crown Clinic says:

    Dear Someone,

Thank you for your recent enquiry.

This may be a case that we can do a hair transplant depending on the size of the area scarred or else if it is a large area it can be dealt by surgical removal.

Ideally, we should see you before we make any further comments.

I am considering getting a hair transplant because I want a permaneant solution that does not ncvolve me taking medication. I have some crown baldness and thinning at the front of my head. I have alot of thick, curly hair at back and sides for donor purposes.

I do not want to take medication such as propetia or Rogaine after any future transplant. Will this have a detrimental effect o the long term success of the procedure? Have patients had good results just with the transplant and not using medications?

  6. [Blocked by CFC] Crown Clinic says:

    Dear Kevin,

Thank you for your recent enquiry.

It is difficult to make comments without seeing the individual. Hair loss is a continuous process. Transplanted hair remains for the rest of your life and natural existing hairs will continue to recede. Medication is used as to prevent further loss of existing hair.
Finasteride and Rogaine particularly works in the mid scalp and crown area only.
These are suggestions only until we see you at the consultation.

hi cosma clinic i was just wondering if there is a minimum age to have surgery because i am 22 and started losing my hair on top,

  10. [Blocked by CFC] Crown Clinic says:

    Dear Craig,
Thank you for your recent enquiry.
The minimum age to be considered for hair transplant surgery is 21, however, a consultation is recommended in order to determine if your hair loss is established enough to be considered for this type of procedure.

If you are not a suitable candidate, we may be able to offer you alternative therapy by way of medication perhaps.

Please contact the clinic to discuss this further or to book your free consultation in one of our centres.
We look forward ot hearing from you.

    Kind regards,
    Crown Cosma Clinic

Due to an accident l have a horizontal cutacross top of my eyebrow it is 5cm longand 1cm wide. in my opinion it needs about100-150 follicles putting in. I have jet black hair which is very thick. i dont want to pay silly prices as most eyebrow touch ups run into thpusands! i just want a surgeoun tp place the needed follicles about 150 in the gap. Please advise on rough estimate. PS can supply pic if needed.
