Common Causes Of Hair Loss

There are many different causes of hair loss, aside pattern baldness there are a number of different things that can trigger the loss. Some people may find that after a major illness or surgery that they may experience some hair loss, this is directly associated with stress and is only a temporary hair loss.

People with hormonal problems may find that this is another cause of hair loss; if you suffer from an overactive or underactive thyroid gland then you may loose your hair. Hormone imbalance is also another of the major causes of hair loss.

Pregnant women also notice hair loss after the birth of their baby, usually around three months this can occur. This is again due to hormones, but after the initial loss women will find that the hair grows back and the hair cycle begins again.

Occasionally causes of  hair loss can be due to an underlying disease, such as diabetes or lupus. This is why it is important to seek medical advice if you notice any unexplained excessive hair loss.
